Arizona International Film Festival program film description: In 1941, while working out his novel musical ideas, Dizzy Gillespie had a job playing trumpet in Cab Calloway's Orchestra. Practical jokes were played, a case of mistaken identity ensued, and Dizzy was ousted from the band, freeing him to pursue his own ideas and help found bebop.
