Description
Arizona International Film Festival program film description: The marching season is the traditional signal for the resumption of political tension and confrontation between Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland; this powerful documentary chronicles a marching season parade. Harkin gained access to two disputing parties--the Orange Order and the Garvaghy Road Residents Coalition--to film this compelling account of events which display the deeply held convictions of both sides. Harkin notes that "Getting beyond the surface of the issue was very difficult ... both sides were extremely sensitive about media coverage, fearing political repercussions and their own personal safety."
