Arizona International Film Festival program film description: A modern fairy tale of sibling rivalry, Fortune is set from the late 1890s to the early 1950s and reveals the conflict between two brothers, Kevin and Alex Flaherty. Kevin, the youngest, is smart and sly while Alex is big and bulky. Kevin marries for love and lacks wealth; Alex marries a wealthy woman and is soon spending his new-found fortune. And, as Kevin works harder and harder to keep himself and his parents above water, he grows ever more resentful of Alex and he devises a plan to obtain some of the fortune by selling Alex some so-called magical gifts, but the gifts have an unexpected effect. O'Mochain also stars in the film which was shot in a single week on an extremely modest budget--it looks nothing like its short shoot or small cost!
